The fourth quarterly core committee meeting under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) was held at BPS Medical College under the chairmanship of Director Dr JC Dureja, in the presence of Sonepat DTO

Dr Sunaina presented the detailed NTEP report of the institute. Nodal officer for NTEP and Professor & Head, Respiratory Medicine, Dr Anand Agrawal, Dr Dheeraj Parihar and committee members were present during the meeting. Dr Agrawal presented an overview on NTEP programme update in India and Haryana and discussed government strategies to eliminate TB to achieve the target by 2025.

Director Dr Dureja, the chairman of the committee, instructed the Microbiology HoD to start IGRA test at the institute as early as possible and requested the DTO for uninterrupted supply of CBNAAT cartridge and TB medicine to the institute to boost the NTEP programme.

Dr Dureja motivated the faculty members to conduct more research under NTEP to strengthen the programme. The Director also greeted the respiratory medicine department for starting the ECHO hub telemedicine program to educate the attached health staff of districts to upgrade patient care in peripheral areas. Medical Superintendent Dr Dheeraj Parihar, Dr Uma Garg, Dr Navtej, Dr Preeti, Dr Surinder Kumar, Dr Swarn Kaur, Dr Renu Garg, Dr SK Jha, Dr Kamaljeet Singh and other faculty members participated in the meeting.
