Five labourers sustained burn injuries in an explosion at a tar processing unit in Dharana village under Beri sub-division on Monday evening. The victims were rushed to PGIMS, Rohtak, where two of them are reported to be in critical condition.

Beri police have launched an investigation into the incident, though the exact cause of the blast is yet to be determined.

Inspector Vikas, SHO of Beri Police Station, confirmed the incident, saying, “The injured labourers have been admitted to PGIMS. Their statements are yet to be recorded as they are currently undergoing treatment.”

Authorities are examining the factory premises to determine the sequence of events that led to the explosion.
