Chandigarh, September 9

Tightening the noose around those indulging in manufacturing fake desi ghee and vegetable oil, several teams of the Chief Minister’s flying squad conducted raids in Hisar district and recovered a huge amount of fake food items.

An official spokesman said the flying squad had on September 4 raided a warehouse on the Mirzapur road and recovered 285.5 litre ghee. The fake ghee, gas cylinders and other items were taken into possession and Mitesh Kumar was arrested.

The spokesperson said the squad on September 5 raided Dev Food Products, a desi ghee manufacturing factory, on the Barwala-Agroha road. The team found 1,199 litre fake ghee branded as “Marka Jivika premium ghee”. A case was registered against the factory owner, Vikas, a resident of new basti in Ambala.

In another raid, the team recovered fake ghee of Armik premium quality.
