Faridabad cops issue traffic advisory

The police have issued a fresh traffic advisory for the people travelling from Faridabad to Delhi and Palwal.

The main highway passing from the Badarpur border is open to private vehicles. However, commuters will have to use alternative routes while travelling towards Palwal due to a blockade near Gadpuri on NH-19.

According to a police spokesperson, people travelling from Faridabad towards Palwal and Mathura on NH-19 should use the Kaili Bypass Road, KGP Expressway from IMT Chowk, Machhagar village and Chhainsa Road. Besides, they should use Kaili Bypass Road, Tigaon Road towards Mohna village, Palwal, and Alawalpur Road.

People travelling from Palwal towards Faridabad should use KGP Expressway, Faridabad Bypass Road from IMT Chowk via Chhainsa Cut towards Atali via Dayalpur village.

Besides, they should use Alawalpur Chowk in Palwal, Faridabad Bypass Road from Chhainsa village via Mohna Road and Tigaon Road.

People travelling from Faridabad to Delhi on NH-19 can use Prahladpur Border Road from Ankhir Chowk, Surajkund Road via Badkhal flyover.

Those travelling from Noida and Delhi towards Faridabad can use the Kalindi Kunj route towards Canal Road via New Sehatpur Bridge and Bypass road.

The police have released helpline numbers — 9582200138 and 0129-2267201 — for assistance related to the traffic movement in the city.

Use Metro: CBSE to exam-bound

• New Delhi: Amid farmers’ call to march towards Delhi, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday advised Delhi-NCR students to avail the Metro services to reach the exam centres on time. In Delhi, a total of 5,80,192 students from 877 examination centres will appear in the board exams.
• The CBSE board exams are scheduled to begin on February 15. The students have been instructed to reach the examination centres by 10 am, half an hour before the commencement of exams at 10.30 am. No student will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 10 am.
• The CBSE said the advisory was being issued keeping the potential delays due to traffic congestion in Delhi-NCR owing to protests. “Because of the current situation in Delhi, it is expected that there will be traffic issues which might cause a delay in reaching the examination centre. Hence, all the students are advised to leave their homes early so that they can reach well on time as per instructions issued by the CBSE. It is advisable to use Metro services to reach the examination centres which are playing smoothly,” the CBSE said.
