The Crime Branch team reached Sainik Colony, where they spotted two individuals on a motorcycle who attempted to flee upon seeing the police. The suspects opened fire, and in the ensuing exchange, Kamal Bhadana sustained leg injuries. He and his associate Manish were apprehended, and a motorcycle, six illegal weapons, a magazine, and four cartridges were seized.

ACP Varun Dahiya stated that the accused had previously extorted money from a cloth merchant in April and had opened fire, injuring an elderly woman in Ghazipur Road, Dabua Colony, in September. Both cases had warrants against the accused. According to police records, Kamal has 15 registered cases, Shashikant has six, and Manish has four.
