Faridabad: While Faridabad police’s social media experiment of sharing crime information in a ‘TRP-driven’ manner may have failed to increase the number of bankable tip-offs, it surely has given them greater visibility. The police had started a 20-day experiment of sharing crime information in a ‘filmy’ manner and claim that it has not only increased followers but also made a large section feel more connected to the police department. The experiment was conducted in June, during which 96 tweets were posted about various crimes and arrests from district police’s official handle @FBDPolice.

Chautala out, Hooda up and about

Rohtak: A battle seems to be building up between two former chief ministers of Haryana, both of whom are considered formidable leaders of the state’s farming community. Workers of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) are rejoicing the release of their party commander, Om Prakash Chautala, after the completion of his jail term. The INLD cadres are hopeful that the party will emerge stronger under Chautala’s leadership. At the same time, supporters of state Congress stalwart Bhupinder Singh Hooda have also started rallying behind him. The MLAs backing Hooda strongly feel that he is the tallest Congress leader in Haryana and should lead the party from the front.
