As per the information available, the former home minster was holding a public meeting when a group of farmers led by farmer leader Navdeep Jalbera reached there and started raising slogans against the state government and the BJP leader.

The farmers were protesting against the government for not allowing them to go to Delhi and for the action taken against the farmers. Meanwhile, Vij’s supporters started raising slogans in his favour and forced the protesters to go out of the hall where Vij was speaking.

However, following the disruption, the former home minister left the venue, while the farmer activists continue to raise the slogans outside.

They said that they would not allow the BJP leaders to hold events in rural areas because they were not allowed to go to Delhi to raise their demands.
