Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia was allegedly shown black flags by farmers on Friday near Baldi bypass. He had stopped there to drink sugarcane juice from a kiosk.

A group of six farmers raised slogans against the MP and criticised him for speaking against farmers. The police accompanying the MP tried to stop them, but one of them threw a black flag towards the MP’s vehicle.

“When we came to know that the MP has stopped his vehicle near Baldi bypass, we reached there and showed him black flags,” said Bahadur Singh Mehla of the BKU (Charuni).

The MP said, “I was going to Yamunanagar. I stopped near the new bus stand. In the meantime, a group of farmers came there. Every one has the right to protest, but this is not the right way.” — TNS
