Fatehabad Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Kaur has suspended two officials — Omprakash Sihag, Reader to Tohana Tehsildar, and Rajesh Khatak, Reader to the City Magistrate, Fatehabad, for their alleged involvement in a vehicle registration scam. The suspension was carried out under the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment & Appeal) Rules, 2016. Both officials have been directed to report daily to the DC office in Fatehabad during their suspension period.

The action relates to irregularities that surfaced a few years ago in the vehicle registration process. During their earlier postings at the vehicle registration office, it was discovered that several old vehicles were fraudulently registered as new models. This malpractice reportedly caused significant discrepancies and led to an FIR being registered at the time.
