Chief Minister Manohar Lal khattar today laid the foundation stone of a jail which will be built at a cost of Rs 100 crore in Fatehabad district. While the CM participated in the function via video conferencing, Energy and Jails Minister Ranjit Singh was the chief guest at the function in Fatehabad.

While addressing a press conference in Hisar later, he said the government had started the construction of new jails in some towns and there was a proposal to shift the jail in Hisar and Ambala from the interior of the towns to the outskirts. BJP MLAs Dura Ram, Lakshman Napa and the DGP (Jails) Mohammad Akil were among those who attended the stone-laying ceremony at Fatehabad.

In Tohana, Development and Panchayat Minister Devender Singh Babli was the chief guest at the programme organised at the BDPO block premises in Tohana, Fatehabad district.

Babli said projects worth Rs 170 crore in Fatehabad district and about Rs 45 crore in Tohana had been inaugurated or initiated. The minister inaugurated a 33-KV substation at Damkora and Ratta Khera worth Rs 11 crore and around 16 ponds under the Amrit Sarovar scheme. He laid the foundation stone for a three-storeyed Panchayat Bhawan at a cost of Rs 27 crore.
