Fatehabad police crack down on online crime glorification

The action, taken under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, was led by social media in-charge Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar. Authorities have intensified online monitoring to prevent the spread of content that promotes unlawful behaviour.
During surveillance, officers identified an Instagram account titled “king.__of_ratia_0001”, found to be associated with criminal elements and indirectly promoting crime. Police traced 11 followers of the account, all residents of Ward No 17, Lali Road area in Ratia. The youths were summoned for questioning and subsequently unfollowed and blocked the account. Their statements were recorded and police gathered relevant digital evidence. Officials also used the occasion to counsel the youths on responsible social media behaviour and warned that glorifying criminal activities online could attract legal consequences.
