He was reportedly demanding a bribe for the transfer of an upper division clerk (UDC) from the Baroda office to Gohana office.
Vipin Chahal of Gohana in his complaint to the ACB stated that he was posted at the FCI warehouse in Baroda village of Sonepat district. The complainant further said he wanted his transfer to Gohana. He requested for his transfer to Dharmender Singh Kataria, manager, FCI.
“The FCI manager demanded Rs 30,000 for my transfer and also said that he will pass my bills,” the complainant alleged. The complainant further alleged that the manager started harassing him for money.
Following the complaint, the ACB registered a case and constituted a team comprising Inspector Jagjeet Singh and Sachin Kumar and laid a trap to nab the manager. The team increased surveillance around the FCI office in Gohana to arrest the accused red-handed while taking bribe.
As per planning, when complainant gave Rs 30,000 bribe to manager Dharmender Singh, the ACB team reached the FCI office and arrested him.
Confirming the arrest of FCI manager Dharmender Singh, ACB Inspector Jagjeet Singh said, “The accused has been arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 from clerk Vipin. The accused will be produced in a court.”
