Deputy Director of Agriculture (DDA), Yamunanagar, Aditya Pratap Dabas said a show-cause notice has been issued to the firm involved. The owner has been asked to submit a reply by August 25, failing which strict action will be taken under the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985.
The notice states that a team comprising Jagadhri SDO and a Subject Matter Specialist of the department carried out a raid at a godown near Telipura village on August 21. “During inspection, bags of urea were found in the godown, but the owner failed to produce any record related to the said stock on the spot,” the notice reads.
Dabas confirmed that while 260 bags of urea were recovered, the firm’s stock register on the Agriculture Department portal did not show any such inventory. “The owner of the firm has violated the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985. Therefore, he was asked to reply to the show-cause notice by August 25, otherwise action will be taken against him,” Dabas said.
Sources said the godown in question is an authorised one, but the urea was allegedly stored illegally. Officials added that a detailed counting of the seized bags is still underway.
