A fire broke out at the corporate office of the Jindal Combines building in Sector-44 today. However, no casualties were reported.

More than 20 fire engines were pressed into service. The blaze came under control after five hours.

The fire was first reported by a company guard at 3.24 am. The office is situated on the sixth floor. No employee was present when the incident took place, but furniture and electronic items were gutted.

“The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident. We suspect that a short-circuit could be a cause of the incident, but it will be cleared after detailed investigations. The exact cost of damage is yet to be determined,” said assistant divisional fire officer Isham Singh Kashyap.
