Fire breaks out in Ambala slum; 1 dead

2 others who suffered serious burn injuries are in a critical condition

A fire broke out in the slum huts near the market committee office of Shahzadpur here on Saturday, engulfing several huts in no time. Some people managed to get out while some were trapped.

A woman was killed and two others suffered serious burn injuries. They were admitted to a hospital and both are in a critical condition, police said. The deceased was identified as Radha Devi (60).

A fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the blaze. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, police added.
