Kurukshetra: Two miscreants allegedly opened fire at the house of a property dealer in Kurukshetra in a bid to extort money from him on Thursday night. Jai Prakash had allegedly received a voice message on his phone earlier, in which a miscreant demanded Rs 50 lakh from him. A case has been registered. TNS

36-yr-old Man strangled

Sonepat: A 36-year-old man, Sonu of Mandora village, was strangled to death in a field at Nahra village on Friday. He had reportedly left for his morning walk around 4 am. A farmer of Nahra village informed the police that a body was lying in his field. The police found that he had been “strangulated” with the help of his shirt. Later, he was identified as Sonu. The Kundli police have registered a case.
