“You think just four years will make them soldiers? They are not hiring soldiers but will give back to society trained shooters after four years who may very well turn into gangsters. If this scheme is that great, why don’t CMs, MPs and MLAs supporting it send at least one child from their home to be an Agniveer and AAP will award them. In fact, there should be a rule mandating the same,” said Haryana AAP leader Naveen Jaihind.

In the city today, Jaihind, while addressing the media, announced a protest by Aam Aadmi Party at Jantar Mantar on various issues including the Agnipath scheme and the way the Kashmir situation has been handled.

Jaihind said that while the BJP was making pompous announcements and launching the scheme, it is high time the party puts its money where its mouth is.

“They talk of Kashmiri Pandits but while they are dying, nobody is going there. AAP will sponsor the trip and also award any MLA or MP who will go to Kashmir and post a selfie from Lal Chowk. They need to walk the talk and show that they really care. It is not only one community, but also the entire state and our forces which are under threat. They have done nothing and now, we will have Agniveers to protect a sensitive state like Kashmir,” he added.
