Former Haryana minister Om Prakash Jain died on Monday at a private hospital in Delhi due to COVID infection and lungs infection.

He was transport minister during the Congress government regime and had contested Assembly election from Panipat rural constituency on the Congress ticket.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
