It views the Bihar polls as a crucial test, and, along with Sihag, around 40 senior leaders from across the country have been given responsibilities. Notable among them are Haryana leaders Virendra Rathore and Chetan Chauhan. The list of chief observers includes Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel. Previously, Sihag was appointed as an All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer for organisational campaigns in Odisha and Rajasthan.
Speaking on the appointment, Amit Sihag thanked Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and organisation general secretary KC Venugopal for the opportunity. He assured that he will fulfil his duties with full dedication. Sihag said after completing his responsibilities in Rajasthan, he will take up his role in Bihar as per the party’s directives.
