The police have registered an FIR against former MLA Sharda Rathore and several others in connection with an alleged assault and attempt to snatch papers from Vaibhav Sharma, brother of Congress candidate Parag Sharma from Ballabgarh.

The case was registered under Sections 115, 126, 304, and 351-D of the IPC based on a complaint filed by Vaibhav Sharma. According to the complainant, a group of 15 to 20 youths, including a relative and supporters of Rathore, allegedly assaulted him and tried to snatch documents related to the filing of nomination papers as a covering candidate.

The incident occurred on Thursday around 2.45 pm when Vaibhav Sharma was entering the office of the SDM in Ballabgarh, where his sister Parag Sharma was already present to file her nomination papers. The complainant alleged that the assault and attempted paper snatching took place in the presence of Sharda Rathore, who was standing nearby.

However, Sharda Rathore has denied the allegations, describing the FIR as a part of “cheap politics” by her opponents. She claimed that all charges levelled against her are baseless and false, aimed at misleading the people. Rathore stated that she is standing with the truth and has done nothing wrong, which will be proven in the election.

It is worth noting that Sharda Rathore filed as an Independent candidate after being denied a ticket by the Congress party from this segment. Parag Sharma, daughter of former MLA Yogesh Sharma, has been allotted the ticket from here, which Rathore described as “cheating” by the party.
