Bhushan revealed that during the remand, investigators would recover the defrauded amount and the mobile phones used in the scam. The fraud was reported after a complaint from Harpreet Singh, who was lured into the scam through Telegram by the accused. He was promised huge returns from stock market trading, leading to a loss of Rs 22,82,239.

The investigation, which began on January 27 following the victim's complaint, resulted in the arrest of four perpetrators from Kanpur. Bhushan assured that the investigation is ongoing, and any individuals found connected to this cyber fraud network will face legal consequences.
