In a major breakthrough, the Kaithal police have busted a drug racket and nabbed its four members.

The police have seized 23,600 intoxicating tablets and Rs 15,000 drug money from their possession.

The police spokesperson said on August 21, the Anti-Narcotics Cell nabbed Vikram of Nanakpuri Colony in Kaithal, with 23,600 intoxicating pills. During interrogation, Vikram revealed that he had procured some pills from Jasmer of Arjun Nagar in Kaithal, and others from Sahil, who had already been arrested by the CIA-1 police in another case.

Vikram divulged that Jasmer had sourced the drugs from Gopal Kishan of Jind. He said Gopal had purchased it from Pragat Singh of Dashmesh Colony.

Acting swiftly, the police nabbed Jasmer, Gopal and Pragat. Cops also seized Rs 15,000 from their possession.

Kaithal SP Astha Modi said, “The police are determined to trace the roots of drug mafia and strict action will be taken against all involved.” She appealed to the public to immediately inform the police about drug peddlers.
