The local police busted a gang of auto thieves and arrested two persons in this regard. Ten vehicles, including four tractors, four motorcycles and a three-wheeler auto rickshaw were recovered from the gang.

The accused have been identified as Mahesh and Ajay, both residents of Bharatpur district, Rajasthan. The arrest of the accused has led to disclosure of the involvement of the gang in theft of all kinds of vehicles in the region for past many years. The police said the accused used to come to the city in a bus and decamp with stolen vehicles to Rajasthan. According to the police, the breakthrough in the case came after the arrest of Mahesh, who had come to Faridabad on June 24. His interrogation led to the arrest of Ajay from Bharatpur on June 29, the police added. A third accused, Rahul, a local resident, is absconding. The police said they had recovered 26 motorcycles from him in 2016.
