Karnal, August 23

The Karnal police busted an inter-district vehicle theft gang and have arrested three persons in this regard.

The police recovered 18 bikes from their possession, which were stolen from Karnal, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Of the three arrested persons, two are buyers.

Rohtash Kumar, in charge of the anti-auto theft unit, said on a tip off, the team arrested Parveen Kumar, a resident of New Valmiki Basti Hansi road, near Commando Complex in Newal with a stolen bike on Sunday. During the investigation, he confessed that he had stolen 18 bikes from Karnal, Panipat and Kurukshetra districts, he added.

The in charge said the stolen bikes were sold to Hukum Singh of Mehmadpura village and Surjeet, a mechanic of Nalikalan village in the district, at cheaper rates. “We arrested both accused on Sunday,” he said.
