One of the gangsters was injured in an encounter with the police near Chaudhariwas village on Gorchi road in the district today late evening. The sources indicated that these criminals seemed to be associated with the notorious Goldy Brar gang.

The injured person has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Hisar. The police sources informed that a team of Rohtak Special Task Force headed by Inspector Narender Pal, acting on a tip-off, tracked three persons in a car who were involved in a case of extortion bid and attempt to murder case in Kharak village of Bhiwani district. They said gangsters travelling in a black colour car were challanged by the police near Chaudhariwas village.

On this, one of the car occupants got off the car and opened fire on the police. The police also retaliated which resulted in a gunshot injury to the person. While the police overpowered him, other occupants of the car managed to drive away under the cover of darkness. The arrested accused has been identified as Yash, a resident of Khewra near Sonepat. The sources revealed that the police have identified other gangsters who were travelling in the car and have launched a manhunt to to nab them.
