I wish to highlight the issue of dumping waste on roads of Mubarakpur. For passersby, it’s an eyesore to see garbage strewn on the roads. Apathy of the authorities concerned is contemptable. Foul smell emanating from the garbage make it unbearable for both residents and commuters. Prompt action must be taken by the authorities concerned and awareness must be spread regarding the same. I hope that the authorities concerned will take notice of the situation and solve the issue at the earliest.

Smell woes in trans-ghaggar sectors

THERE is a huge pile up of garbage at the dumping site, which is hardly a kilometre from residential areas of trans-Ghaggar sectors. Foul smell emanating from the site continues to haunt the residents round the clock. The authorities concerned must ensure that garbage treatment plants are installed which have been hanging fire for the last many years, as only that can bring relief.

Youth must remember their fundamental duties, value time

In view of the 157th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, which was on January 12, youth must introspect and bear in mind their fundamental duties. They should understand the importance of time and utilise it properly, as an hour spent worthwhile is equivalent to a gain and an hour spent faffing around is equivalent to a loss. The youth should understand that hasty decisions always end up backfiring and therefore cultivate patience. Making decisions in haste without much deliberation can prove to be foolhardy, so in view of this one should also learn how to manage one’s time. We also have to enhance our spiritual quotient.
