A senior traffic police official said road markings were often made to separate lanes, but some drivers still violate the rules. Lane violations are mostly observed on NH-48, Gurugram-Faridabad road and Gurugram-Sohna road. He said the aim of the Gurugram traffic police was to make city roads safe.

“To prevent accidents, awareness campaigns are conducted regularly for truck drivers, company drivers and bus drivers. Such drives will continue in future also,” said Virender Vij, DCP Traffic.
