With the conclusion of the Saras and Crafts fairs, organised as part of the International Gita Mahotsav-2025 (IGM), the 21-day celebrations concluded on the banks of the Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra on Friday.

While the cultural events and main events of the IGM were organised from November 24 to December 1, the Saras and Crafts fairs were organised from November 15 to December 5.

Folk artistes from 17 states and union territories, including Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Ladakh, Gujarat, Manipur, Sikkim, Odisha, and Meghalaya showcased the cultural and folk-art of their respective states.

Award-winning craftsmen exhibited their art. Traders and craftsmen, besides the representatives of social, religious and government departments, had set up stalls on the banks of the Brahma Sarovar.

The artistes dressed in traditional attires accorded a rousing welcome to the visitors and dignitaries. The youngsters were seen dancing with the artistes on the banks of the Brahma Sarovar. The mahotsav like the previous years, attracted a huge crowd, especially during the weekends, and the traders and artistes did a brisk business in the Crafts and Saras fairs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Vice-President of India CP Radhakrishnan, Union minister Manohar Lal, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and several other minister and dignitaries attended the festival this year.

Next year, the Deepotsav and Deepdaan ceremony of the IGM-26 are expected to take place on December 20.

Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said, “The International Gita mahotsav has earned the reputation of an international-level festival and with the collective efforts of all officials, employees, residents and visitors, the mahotsav has successfully concluded. A large number of visitors had reached Kurukshetra to attend the mahotsav.”
