The event was the part of the university’s golden jubilee celebrations and organised in collaboration with the 9th Convention of the Indian Association for Reliability and Statistics (IARS), bringing together eminent statisticians, mathematicians, researchers, and young scholars from across the globe.
Prof Suresh Chander Malik, convener of the conference, said throughout the conference, profound discussions were held on a wide range of contemporary themes including statistical modelling, optimisation techniques, artificial intelligence, data science, sampling theory, estimation theory, and information theory.
“The conference strengthened research collaborations among national and international statisticians, especially in reliability modelling, machine learning, and optimisation. It identified emerging research challenges in artificial intelligence, real-time data analysis, and stochastic modelling, motivating scholars to adopt interdisciplinary approaches. Young researchers benefited from interactive discussions, technical sessions, and opportunities to present their work before global experts,” he added.
Prof Malik informed the event also laid the foundation for future academic linkages through proposals for joint workshops, collaborative projects, and student exchange initiatives. Furthermore, it underscored the need to integrate modern statistical tools into policymaking.
