Barala said cows are revered as “Gau Mata” in Indian culture. He emphasised that gaushalas are not only contributing to cow promotion but also working towards value addition by producing vermicompost and cow extract.

Former Minister Dr Kamal Gupta, who also attended the event, said the state government’s schemes were yielding results as gaushalas were receiving support for fodder and other resources. Punjab gau seva convener Chandrakant also talked about the significance of cows for society. Several dignitaries, including MLA Randhir Panihar, Banwari Lal Poonia, HPSC member Jyoti Bainda, BJP district general secretary Ashish Joshi were also present on the occasion.
