Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh stressed the importance of quality education and character-building during his visit to the Government Smart Primary School, Sector 13, here.

He exhorted teachers to not only focus on academic learning, but also instill good values in children and promote awareness about cleanliness.

The Governor interacted with students, parents and teachers, besides inspecting classrooms and other facilities at the school.

He highlighted that primary education forms the foundation for the nation’s future and quality teaching at this stage contributes to producing responsible citizens and professionals like scientists, engineers, doctors and administrators.

Ghosh encouraged the teachers to motivate children to take part in sports, maintain a caring attitude and promote hygiene. He also urged parents to adopt a friendly approach towards their children and actively participate in parent-teacher meetings.

During the visit, the Governor distributed protein bars to students, checked their notebooks and engaged them in discussions about school facilities.

He inspected school toilets and campus cleanliness, expressing satisfaction over the upkeep. The Governor emphasised the need to maintain hygiene, especially in students’ restrooms.
