Govt committed to making education job-oriented: CM Saini

He said recognising the importance of new technologies in education, the government had decided to introduce digital literacy subjects, including coding, data analysis and digital security, in the higher secondary school curriculum, as part of its manifesto.
The government would also establish Umeed counselling services in every school and career counselling would be made mandatory for all students from Class 9 onward.
According to the Sankalp Patra, the government also aimed to maintain a teacher-student ratio of 1:30 in government schools, he said.
Saini also announced a financial grant of Rs 31 lakh for Nand Lal Geeta Vidya Mandir. He said Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan had been illuminating the path of education through over 25,000 schools across the country since 1977.
PM Narendra Modi had introduced the new National Education Policy to ensure that children received not only academic knowledge but also moral education and values in schools, he said.
The state was working to establish educational institutions that would provide continuous learning opportunities, from kindergarten to postgraduate (KG to PG) levels. “As part of this initiative, admissions under the KG to PG scheme have already been introduced in four universities in Haryana: Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila University, Khanpur Kalan; Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra; Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar; and MDU, Rohtak,” said the CM.
The government had established 1,420 Model Sanskriti Vidyalayas across the state with the goal of providing high quality education to children from economically disadvantaged families, starting from the primary level.
He further said Haryana was the first state to implement the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) for vocational skills at the school level. Under this initiative, students from classes 9 to 12 were being provided with various skill training programmes, helping them acquire practical skills, besides academic education.
