Around 150 employees working in various Zila Parishads across Haryana under the Panchayati Raj Department are set to lose their jobs after the state government decided to terminate its manpower outsourcing contract with M/s Citadel Security Services.

An official memorandum issued by the Director General of the Development and Panchayats Department stated that the contract was originally valid until January 31, 2025. However, no further extension has been granted by the competent authority. As a result, all Chief Executive Officers of Zila Parishads — except in Kaithal, Panipat, Sonepat and Mahendragarh — have been directed to relieve the affected employees with immediate effect.

The decision has come as a major setback for the employees, many of whom have served the department for years. “With no extension granted, these employees are now left uncertain about their future employment prospects,” said one of the affected officials.

A government official confirmed that the contract ended on January 31, 2025. “Since no further extension has been granted by the competent authority, all employees hired through M/s Citadel Security Services are being relieved,” the official stated.

They have been demanding to be shifted to the Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam.

Sources suggest that the employees are planning to appeal to the government, requesting either an extension of their contracts or alternative job placements. While uncertainty looms, officials have assured the employees that the government will consider their demands to protect their employment, sources said.
