The Haryana Right to Service Commission has directed Commercial Assistant (CA) working in the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), Samalkha, to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 and compensation of Rs 3,000 to the consumer. The commission imposed the fine for not providing the notified service to the applicant within the stipulated time limit and closing the complaint without investigation.

An official spokesperson said Raj Kumar of Bhodwal Majri village, Panipat, lodged a complaint regarding a wrong bill in November 2024. The commission, after considering all facts and circumstances of the case, observed that the matter had been unnecessarily complicated by the officers concerned, who completely failed to discharge their duties.

Similarly, the Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 500 on Commercial Assistant working in Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, Sohna, and Rs 300 on the then clerk. The fine has been imposed for not providing the notified service to the applicant within the stipulated time limit and negligence in work.
