Govt opens E-Kshatipurti portal for crop loss claims in 4 districts

Taking note of the widespread damage to kharif crops caused by waterlogging, the Haryana Government has opened the E-Kshatipurti portal for farmers in Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Palwal and Hisar districts.

The portal will remain open till August 31, enabling farmers from the affected villages to upload their claims for compensation in line with government policy.

According to an official communiqué issued by the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management, the decision was taken after field-level damage assessments and recommendations by district administrations.

“After the recommendation and considering the impact of heavy rain and waterlogging on kharif crops in 2025, the government has decided to open the E-Kshatipurti portal for uploading claims from affected villages till August 31,” the communiqué stated.

Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Singh said the portal had been activated for 14 villages under Meham tehsil and one village under Lakhan Majra sub-tehsil, where crops suffered major damage due to heavy rainfall.

“These villages include Meham, Farmana Khas, Samain, Bedwa, Behlba, Sisra Khas, Shekhpur Titri, Kheri Meham, Bhaini Bheron, Bhaini Surjan, Bhaini Maharajpur, Madina Korsan, Bharan, and Bhaini Chanderpal,” the DC said. He urged all affected farmers to submit their claims before the deadline.

Meanwhile, the district unit of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has demanded that more villages be added to the compensation scheme.

“Chuliana, Kultana, and Pakasma are among the villages that have not been included in the official list of 14, yet large portions of agricultural land in these areas are still submerged, causing severe losses to farmers,” said Preet Singh, district president, AIKS.

He added that a delegation had already met the District Revenue Officer, urging that these villages be included so that affected farmers could also benefit.
