Regular water sprinkling and dust-mitigation measures are being carried out at key GMDA project sites, including the upgradation of Sector 27/28 and 28/42 master roads, road improvement works along SPR and the Dwarka Expressway and along master sector roads under the jurisdiction of the authority.

Additionally, pothole repair work is also being undertaken wherever required to ensure roads remain motorable, safer for travel and comparatively dust-free, while also supporting smoother traffic movement.

Field teams of the GMDA have been instructed to follow GRAP-III guidelines strictly to minimise dust emissions. The GMDA will continue these measures to support citywide efforts aimed at improving air quality during the GRAP-III period to further help lower pollution levels.

Meanwhile the Municipal Corporation is also strictly enforcing the GRAP-III implemented by the Utilities Quality Management Commission to control pollution levels. Regular spraying of treated water from tankers is being carried out to reduce dust particles in the air.

Additionally, the corporation teams are continuously monitoring construction sites, garbage dumping points and market areas. Since the implementation of GRAP-III on November 12, the Municipal Corporation has issued challans to 199 violators, imposing a total fine of Rs 27,51,500.

These include 10 challans for garbage burning and coal burning, 64 challans for carrying out construction activities despite the ban, 12 challans for illegally dumping C&D waste and 113 challans for littering. Monitoring will be further intensified in the coming days and strict punitive action will continue against violators.
