Vishram Kumar said during the Swachhata Abhiyan, if garbage was found around the court premises, new Mini-Secretariat and Patwar Khana, then notice would be issued to the officials of the departments concerned and instructions were also given to take action against three employees of the municipal council for negligence in cleanliness.

During the sanitation drive, the Deputy Commissioner along with all officers and employees collected the garbage around the Circuit House and reprimanded the Circuit House gardener responsible for poor sanitation. He also reprimanded the municipal council employees and canteen operator for heaps of garbage inside and outside the premises of the new Mini-Secretariat and instructed them to clean the area.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Forest Department officer and the officers of Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and other departments to trim the trees around the Mini-Secretariat, and carry out beautification work by planting trees on the roadside around the Mini-Secretariat.

Meanwhile, Vishram Kumar Meena has also given instructions to ban parking of carts selling fruits around the Circuit House. These cart operators had littered around the Circuit House. During the drive, the DC interacted with the fruit sellers and warned them of initiating a strict action if they were found again throwing garbage in the area.

District Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Aman Kumar, CEO Zila Parishad Shambhu Rathi, CTM Ashish Kumar, DIPRO Dr Narender Singh, District Forest Officer Rishiraj, and several other officials participated in the cleanliness drive.

The DC said, “All efforts are being made to improve the sanitation of Kurukshetra and duties have been assigned to all departments. With the support of residents, the sanitation will be improved. All officers should contribute in keeping the city clean.”

Earlier, he had directed the SDMs, District Municipal Commissioner, executive officers, and secretaries of civic bodies to go for morning walks daily, inspect sanitary condition, and prepare lists of areas where garbage was being dumped in open spaces. The officials were told to upload the pictures with GPS location on the Swachhata app so that the area was cleaned by the civic body employees.
