Rohtak: Dr Manisha Kamal Kukreja, a professor of orthodontics at Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak, received the second prize in clinical category presentation at the 54th Indian Orthodontics Conference held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, recently. Dr Manisha had presented a clinical poster on ‘Treatment Modalities in Class 11 Division 2 Malocclusion’. There were 90 presentations in this category. Nearly 3,000 delegates from different parts of the country and abroad attended the conference.

Annual sports meet organised

Karnal: The annual sports meet was organised at DAV Police Public School. Chief guest Surinder Singh Bhoria, SP, along

with principal Sumita Arora inaugurated the annual meet by releasing balloons into the air. Students presented a cultural programme. They even showcased their skills in yoga, skating, basketball, football and other games.

Communication skills Workshop

Kurukshetra: A weeklong workshop on professional communication skills and work culture organised by the department of humanities and social sciences, NIT, Kurukshetra, concluded. It was organised for the officials and staff of the institute. Chief guest Prof Brahmjit Singh, officiating director of the institute, emphasised on the need of developing effective communication skills and creating a conducive work culture for the staff of the institute to succeed in their professional endeavours. In his address, Prof SD Sharma, former Vice Chancellor, HP University, Shimla, emphasised on the need to understand the role of effective communication skills and soft skills for professional success.

Faculty development programme

Sonepat: Prof Rajindrakumar Anayath, Vice Chancellor of the DCR University of Science and Technology, Murthal, has forecasted that the artificial intelligence will contribute significantly in the fourth industrial revolution. Addressing the participants at the closing ceremony of a five-day faculty development programme at the university, the VC said: “Oil and iron industries will be closed in the coming time and new products will be made by utilising the recycled products in future.” He claimed that due to electric vehicles, the means of transport would become cheaper and the environment would also be protected.
