The campaign will run until October 15 with a detailed action plan, including awareness camps.
Adityendra Singh Takshak, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (Sales Tax), Jagadhri, said the first phase would run from September 22 to 29. “All public representatives will actively participate in this campaign and shopkeepers and customers will be informed about the reforms by visiting the identified markets every day,” he said.
He added that the department held a meeting with the Plywood Association, Kirana Association, Arhtiya Association, Metal Association and other industrial bodies in Jagadhri yesterday to brief them about the reforms.
Takshak said the Chamber of Commerce and various market associations were also being involved, so that the business community could directly benefit. “Print media, electronic media and social media platforms are also being utilised to promote GST reforms. Hashtags such as GST Reforms, Ease of Doing Business, Swadeshi and Haryana have been launched,” he noted.
He further said the aim was not only to spread awareness about tax reforms but also to encourage people to adopt Indian-made goods and promote the spirit of Swadeshi.
“This drive will not only raise awareness among the business community but also directly benefit the general public, making Haryana even more empowered from a business perspective,” he added.
On the occasion, former Mayor Madan Chauhan, former Chairman Ram Niwas Garg, Independent Director of UHBVN Karanesh Sharma, Girish Puri, Krishan Singla, Municipal Councillor Bhavna Pawan Bittu, Aman and Shubham Rana, along with other dignitaries, were present.
