According to the police, Mukesh pasted his photograph on the documents belonging to resident of Chaubarja village in Sirsa.

He also forged signatures and used fake documents to stand as guarantor for Bal Karan Singh, who was in Sirsa jail in connection with a snatching case. When the court checked the documents, they were found to be fake. The court then directed Mukesh to appear it, but he failed to do so.

Following the court directions, the police registered a case under relevant sections and started an investigation. A Civil Lines police arrested Mukesh following a tip-off.
