In a shocking incident linked to a social media dispute, two motorcycle-borne youths opened fire outside the house of social media influencer Rahul Dhandhlania in Dhandhlan village on Saturday evening. The accused reportedly claimed they were retaliating against the influencer for speaking against them online.

According to a complaint filed at Dujana police station, the incident occurred around 8 pm when Rahul’s brother, Rinku, was walking on the terrace after dinner. The two assailants entered the house while filming a video on their mobile phones. One of them looked up at the terrace, drew a pistol and fired a shot in the air, shouting that they had come to “teach Rahul a lesson.”

As Rinku rushed downstairs, one of the youths allegedly pointed a pistol at him and told him to “search his name on Instagram,” claiming that Rahul had been saying “too much” about them on social media.

The sound of gunfire quickly drew the attention of nearby villagers, who managed to apprehend the duo a short distance from the scene. The police were immediately alerted.

Based on Rinku’s complaint, a case has been registered against the two accused — identified as Abhishek Punia and Akshay — under Sections 351(3), 333, 3(5) and 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
