Harcharan Singh Dhammu, president, Guru RamDas Singh Sabha, who is contesting election from Ward 23 for the Haryana Gurudwara Management Committee (HSGMC) on the ticket of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Azaad), said income from the gurdwaras in Haryana would be spent on the development of gurdwaras and for the people in Haryana, not in Punjab.

Dhammu was interacting with media in Model Town here on Saturday. He said the Sikh community of Haryana had sacrificed so much for a separate gurdwara management committee and protested for a long time.

He further alleged that Punjab had always discriminated against Haryana’s development by collecting money from Haryana’s gurdwaras, but never did any work for the uplift of the Sikhs here. It never opened any institute, school or college for the education of Haryana’s youths, he added.
