Making his last pitch to voters, Congress candidate for Badshahpur Vardhan Yadav said in last 10 years, neither did the BJP change nor did its promises. He slammed the saffron party, stating that its leaders often indulged in emotional dramas.

The Congress nominee also emphasised the need for a youth leader in Gurugram. “Badshahpur is the biggest chunk of Gurgaon in terms of population, besides being the largest revenue contributer in the constituency. Look around you, if you feel this needs to change, then vote in favour of the change. The city needs the youth’s power and vision. We all need to work together to ensure the development of our city. We need an inclusive government that can think beyond community and religion and the Congress should be your pick,” said Yadav.

While his rival Rao Narbir opted for a roadshow, Yadav went for a padyatra with his supporters.

“The Congress has already announced that Badshahpur will get a slice of power in the state. Choosing a leader who has a stronger say in the Cabinet and a vision for the execution of policies would be most the beneficial of all for your development, so vote wisely,” said Yadav.

He also warned people that if they voted in favour of any Independent candidate, it would eventually help the BJP since they were “aligned” with the saffron party and would switch at any moment.
