Gurugram cops issue 693 challans on Holi

To maintain law and order and ensure smooth traffic management during the festivities, the Gurugram police had set up 62 additional checkpoints across the city.
“During the special checking campaign, the challans issued included 141 for drunken driving, 138 for riding without a helmet, 59 for triple riding, 28 for wrong-side driving, 23 for not wearing a seat belt, 18 for vehicles without HSRP number plates, 17 for driving without number plates, eight for drivers without uniform, seven for black films and four for dangerous driving,” said a senior traffic police official.
DCP Traffic Virender Vij stated, “One of the objectives of this special campaign was to prevent accidents and disputes caused by intoxicated drivers during Holi. A total of 693 challans were issued.”
