A court here has sentenced two men to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a 16-year-old girl in August 2021. The court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar, also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each convict.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on August 8, 2021, when the accused lured the minor girl while his accomplice assisted him. Following a complaint lodged at the IMT Manesar police station, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The police arrested the two men, identified as Saurabh from Madra village in Jalon district and Aman from Ramnagar village in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. The police said after the arrest of the suspects, they were placed in judicial custody and faced trial.

Police officials said the investigation team collected substantial evidence and witness testimonies, which were presented in court. Based on this evidence and the charge sheet filed by the Gurugram police, Judge Kumar delivered the sentence on Monday. A spokesperson for the Gurugram police confirmed the details of the case and the court's decision.
