Gurugram, February 7

Citing no improvement in the work of waste management concessionaire for Gurugram and Faridabad, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has initiated the proceedings for the termination of Ecogreen’s services. It is learnt that the Faridabad civic body will also initiate similar proceedings soon. The Gurugram MC had served a preliminary termination notice to the agency a month ago and had given it a month’s time to rectify its working.

In a letter shot to the Urban Local Bodies Department, the MC highlighted that the rectification plan was neither satisfactory nor any improvement was seen on the ground in the last 30 days.

“The waste management concessionaire has failed on numerous fronts and has been given enough chances. After the preliminary termination notice, it was given 30 days to rectify working but failed to show any improvement,” Joint Commissioner (sanitation) Dr Naresh Kumar said.
