Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the ‘Har Ghar Chhat’ (house/roof for everyone) scheme would be a boon for economically weaker sections. He praised the district administration’s social service initiatives, undertaken with support from industries under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, calling them highly commendable.

The objective of this scheme is to ensure that poor families receive immediate assistance for repairing their homes, the minister added.

Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta said the initiative was being implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. “This scheme will relieve poor families from the mental stress caused by damaged roofs, especially during the monsoon season. With the support of the district administration and CSR partners, roofing and repair work for 100 eligible families has been completed, with financial assistance totalling around Rs 40 lakh,” he said.

He added that the scheme was launched in response to requests from poor families for housing repairs. “I appealed to reputable companies in the district for support, and with contributions from firms like ISGEC and Jamna Auto, the dreams of the poor are being realised,” said Parth Gupta.

On the occasion, IAS trainee Suman Yadav, DPRO Dr Manoj Kumar, Jagadhri SDM Vishwanath, DDPO Narinder Singh and other officials were also present.
