He said the procurement process in the market should be transparent and smooth so that farmers received timely payment and a fair price for their hard work was ensured.

During this visit, he spoke with several farmers and sought their opinions. They briefed him on the market's arrangements and procurement process.

He assured them that the state government was fully committed to protecting farmers’ interests and that negligence in the markets would not be tolerated.

He particularly praised Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, saying that the state government had taken a major and historic decision to advance the paddy procurement date to provide relief to farmers.

He said this would save farmers time in selling their crops and also relieve them of storage problems.

He said the government's goal was to increase farmers' income and ensure full respect for their hard work.

“Adequate arrangements are being made at procurement centres and concrete steps have been taken to ensure timely payment to every farmer,” said Rana.
