Haryana DGP turns Good Samaritan, rushes accident victim to hospital

While passing through Panchkula with his escort vehicle, the DGP noticed a collision between a car and a motorcycle near ITBP, Bhanu. Acting swiftly, he and his team transported an injured person to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, in his escort vehicle.
DGP Singh immediately informed DCP Srishti Gupta about the incident. He appealed to citizens to treat timely hospitalisation of accident victims as their foremost duty. “No one helping an injured person will be questioned by the police,” he emphasised.
The injured motorcyclist has been identified as Veer Bahadur, a resident of Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh. He had been working as a driver in Sector 8, Panchkula, for the past three years.
The DGP stressed the importance of road safety awareness and the need to cultivate a culture of compassion and prompt assistance. “Every citizen must act without hesitation to save lives in road accidents,” he said.
The police department hailed this as an inspiring example of promptness and humanity, reflecting both professional commitment and social responsibility.
