Haryana Diary: 2 Haryana leaders among Cong star campaigners for Bihar

Bhiwani: Congress national general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala and national secretary Pradeep Narwal, who had contested the last Assembly election from the Bawani Khera constituency in Bhiwani district, have been named among the party’s star campaigners for the Bihar Assembly polls. Notably, they are the only two leaders from Haryana included in the list. Party sources said the omission of Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had surprised a section of the state unit.

Political storm over rice millers’ meeting with CM

Karnal: A recent meeting between the Karnal Rice Millers Association and the Arhtiya Association with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh has triggered sharp reactions from the Opposition and BKU leaders. The meeting took place two days after two FIRs were registered and physical verification of rice mills was ordered. The delegation, led by Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, had discussed the issues faced by traders during paddy procurement and verification. Anand later wrote on social media that the Chief Minister had assured prompt action and directed officials to ensure that traders were not harassed and farmers did not suffer inconvenience.

However, Congress leaders, including Urban District president Parag Gaba and rural district president Rajesh Vaid, accused the government of shielding those involved in the alleged “scam” and demanded an impartial probe. BKU leader Bahadur Singh Mehla also criticised the government for “siding with millers instead of supporting farmers.”

Rift among BJP leaders resurfaces in Ambala

Ambala: Differences within the BJP have again surfaced in Ambala after former Minister of State Aseem Goel took a dig at the BJP Mayor of the Ambala Municipal Corporation.

Goel remarked that “whoever becomes the mayor starts behaving like the opposition,” adding that “something seems wrong with the Vastu of the corporation office.”

Addressing a public gathering, he said the upcoming municipal elections would likely see a “credit war,” where even those who had done little would try to claim credit for developmental works. He urged workers to stay composed and “not cross the Lakshman Rekha.”
